Samsung Solve for Tomorrow

For the second time in 3 years the Edmonson County Middle School has been named a top 5 finalist in Kentucky for the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow STEM Contest.  Edmonson County Middle School was selected out of over 3100 applications.   Their entry was based on research a group of students from Edmonson County Middle are doing in collaboration with Mammoth Cave National Park.  The students are studying the effects of changes in the environment on the wood frog and salamander populations in the area.

I am very excited about starting another school year.  Please come to the library as soon as possible to start looking for a new book.  I have several new books that arrived at the end of the school year last year.

The 5&6 Center Robotics class have new equipment.  You will be able to use new robots to conduct space missions this year!

The students are getting very excited about the new Robotics program at the 5 & 6 Center.  They have started constructing the Robots and they should be ready for programing just in time for our new STEM Academy.

If you are interested in building and program Lego Mindstorm Robots, please make sure you select the STEM Academy for your enrichment class at the 5 & 6 Center this fall.
