Happy New Year! January 9-13

Posted by monica.gallagher | Uncategorized | Posted on January 7th, 2012

Well, we made it through our first week back! Welcome to our new student, Nevaeh. Congratulations to our class for 50 days of perfect attendance. We were rewarded with a disco party on Friday. We also enjoyed the warm weather for a few extra minutes at the park. South Edmonson was represented at the Edmonson County High School Homecoming ceremonies last night by Evan Luke Gallagher, Jacob Wilson, Leah Ballance and Beth Elmore.  It has taken me all of this Saturday to rest and re-energize, but we will be ready for the busy week ahead.

Here’s what we are studying:  Reading-Unit 3.4 Frog and Toad  Spelling-words with ending -ed and words with pattern ‘ar’ Math-Chapter 4-Subtraction Strategies. We will test this week on Thursday. Science-The life-cycle of a frog and learning the differences between frogs and toads. Extra homework credit will be given to students who will research and write a fact about either of those topics.

I am looking forward to speaking with all of you at Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you have not signed up for a conference or are unsure of your time, please give me a call Monday and I will try to accommodate you. The schedule is mostly booked solid, but there are still a few times available. Report cards will be distributed to all who attend conferences or sent home Wednesday for those who do not. Please remember to sign one copy of the report card and return it in the envelope.

I have been planning upcoming events for the 100th Day of School (January 18th) and Valentines Day. Here is the sign up sheet for treats.

  • cupcakes
  • cookies

  • candy
  • punch-Ms. Monica

  • plates
  • napkins
  • cups

Hope everyone has a great week–see you on Tuesday!
