About

Hello, my name is Monica Gallagher-thanks for visiting our classroom blog!  After graduating from the University of Louisville, I began my teaching career as a research observer and substitute teacher. Substituting for three years was a difficult job, but it was great experience. As a research observer, I was allowed to visit classrooms in six different Jefferson County  schools and observe teaching and learning in various classrooms and settings.  I was then hired by Cane Run Elementary  were I worked  for 12 years. I taught all different combinations of Primary and even taught Humanities for two years, but found my heart and talent are in Kindergarten and First Grade. I was hired for the 2009-10 school year by South Edmonson Elementary and could not be happier at my new school!

I am the proud wife of Scott Gallagher and the mom of 5 year-old, Evan Luke Gallagher. My parents are C.L. and Sheila Childress. We live in the Lincoln Community of Edmonson County.
