Often, students feel alone – like they are the only one who is struggling with a particular issue. Group Counseling offers students the opportunity to belong to a group that is facing the same dilemma and discuss ways to improve the situation. Possible topics include bullying, anger management, academic difficulties, impulsive behavior, and low self-esteem. After several counseling sessions, students within the group form a special bond, share experiences, and discuss what has and hasn’t helped them in relation to the issue. Students realize they are not alone and want to help each other conquer the “problem”.
