Students really need to be practicing or reviewing multilication facts. There are lots of online resources to make studying these more fun. Studying while in the car can be an easy way to fit this in.

I was so proud of the number of students who had their nightly reading log signed by their parents last week. By signing the log your saying you listened to your child read. What a wonderful way to spend time together! Not to mention it’s helping your child become a more successful readed. Keep up the good work.
This week’s selection story and spelling words are Lewis and Clark and Me.
Science test over Chapter 1 will be given on Thursday. Study guide was attached to newsletter in Graded Work folder sent home on Friday.
Spelling and Reading test on Friday.

We had a great first week together, and I am looking forward to a wonderful year with the students in room 122!
Reminders:
Students will be bringing home a homework folder each night (black plastic) with any uncompleted work and with nightly reading assignments. Please sign folder indicating that you have read and helped your child with their assignments. Students will be rewarded for having folder signed.
A weekly calendar with upcoming events and tests will be sent home each Friday. On the backside of the calendar will be the next week’s spelling words/vocabulary words.
Also each Friday I will send home a graded work folder with the students’ graded work for the week. Please review and remove their work from the graded work folder. Sign and return the empty folder no later than Wednesday’s.
The week of August 8th:
Because of Winn Dixie will be our reading selection as well as our spelling list.
Reading and spelling test will be on Friday.
